Summer...Bummer

I have been home for almost a week now and I have accomplished NOTHING! (Yeah it's been kind of  a bummer hence the title) Well I may be over exaggerating just a little, when I say I have accomplished nothing but, the summer has been nothing of what I expected. See in my head (and things in my head are really over the top and extra all the time thats just who I am mentally) I expected to come home and it be a none stop party because that what I was doing at school (only after all work is done I am always a student first) so why let the party stop there right? That is the thought I had (in my head of course) See at school, after final and all the work was done we partied for almost three weeks straight my crew and I were turnt (turnt means having a good time...its college who is not turnt) every single last day until we all left one by one, me being the last one to leave beside the graduating seniors of couse (their party still continued). Now, I know you are thinking....why would I leave such a good time behind to come home and sit on my ass? That is the million dollor question I ask myself each day I wake up and realize I am at home turning down (i.e being boring) when I left the Hampton Party train. But, it is no ones fault  but mine because I called home and was basically like get me the hell out of Hampton as soon as possible (somethings happens that have nothing to to with summer so I guess you will get that story some other time).

However, since I have been home I have had an interview at Johnson Publishing Company which, went exceptionally well (they told me and I quote "I set the bar for all the other intern interviews"....but I already knew that going into my interview because well I am awesome, but I think all of my readers knew that already). I am looking forward to start work and blogging about my experience at Johnson Publishing Company. But besides that I have have been catching up with my best bud, other random friends that I only talk to in Chicago (thats because well I am in Chicago and having nothing or anyone else to preoccupy my time with), and babysit my two baby cousins who drive me up the wall sometimes but, I cannot help but love them.

However, the summer is looking up, today I get to work a book tour for the book The Truth About Men: The Secret Side of the Opposite Sex (everyone should go get a copy its a must have) this should be fun. And on the bright side of things you can read about all the great stories I have to tell about working the book tour. Also, we have some a couple of "celebrity"guest staying at the house this weekend. (we will see how that goes...this should be very interesting seeing that I could really care less about who they are, what they have, or their "celebrity" period but thats just me because, in my head I am already my own celebrity...I think everyone should feel that way). Aw, and how could I forget NATO  (for those of you who do not know what NATO is here is the linke to educate yourself http://www.chicagonato.org/ this blog is about me)  is also here this weekend (YAY!...I hope you read that in the most sarcastic voice you could muster).

But, after this weekend my summer is going to go from 0 to 50 starting monday just you want; I promise if you stay with me you will not be disappointed.

Introduction...If thats what you want to call it

Like most bloggers out there in the Internet universe the first post on their blog is their introduction or something that makes them stand out form the rest of the millions of blogs on the Internet and yes...this to is my introduction. At first, I sat here for about twenty minutes trying to figure out clever catchy ways I can introduce myself without being corny or boring but, I have come up with nothing (I am sometimes a boring person if you ask me, I just be out here living or at least I think). At this point, I thought about writing the safe introduction you know the my name is...I am from...I go to school...and my goals are... type of introduction, (yeah that one or as we call it the Hampton Introduction) but that is overly used and safe and I know if I read something like that on a persons blog I would A) close my browser/tab,  B) immediately log on to Facebook and/or Twitter or C) Get the hell off the Internet. So suddenly, I had the bright idea to go to do a search on Google of catchy ways to open your blog (like most Americans, when in doubt turn to Google and yes I turned to google) and that turned out to be a total waste of my time, because everyone knows if its not on the fist page of Google its not worth it (to be honest if its not in the first five links you might as well give up your search or find new keywords). Finally, I have just come the conclusion introducing myself can be as easy as saying my name is Chad (and yes Chad is my real name Chad Harris to be exact and I do not need some cool Internet alias to be perceived as awesome because in my head I am already awesome) or telling you a little bit about myself so....here it I go.

My name is Chad Harris and I am average and slightly odd (sometimes really odd) rising junior at Hampton University and I am from Chicago, Illinois (see there I could have put the windy city but like I stated above I am just going to keep it really simple). I am not promoting anything or sell anything either, I am simply trying to tell a story, my story because in the world that I have created in my head (and no I am not crazy) I feel everyone has their own unique story to tell. However, I will only be telling the story or stories from my summer adventures (because things get a little crazy and someone should really record the things that I get myself into); this may give a chance for people who know me get a better understanding of how I process things in the confused place I call my brain/ in my head and for all the other people who want to get to know me here you go...I am going to be slightly less mysterious and finally open up(only a little). And lastly, for all the noisy asses that just want to know what I do and how I do it here is your chance but do not get carried away.

Aw and before I forget, I do have to say one last thing. I will not me using anyones real name besides my own to protect the identity of all the people I know and the stupid things they do. And lets face it I am in no position to be sued for defamation of character I have student loans I have to pay back however, all stories will be true accounts of my summer the only fictional part will be the names.
